HOW TO REMOVE THE SWINGARM

The how-to guide is proved for information purposes only. The guide assumes you have general mechanical knowledge and have the ability to remove and replace components on your motorcycle. If you have any questions or are not comfortable doing the work contact a professional mechanic. Keep all stock parts from your existing system as some components may be necessary to install your new British Customs Products depending on the application.
Read through the guide prior to beginning to remove any components. Always properly support the vehicle with a stand and/or lift when servicing or performing any work. Unstable vehicles my present dangerous conditions and may cause property damage and/or personal injury
Step By Step Guide - How to Remove Swingarm
1. Remove the Rear Wheel (see How to Remove the Rear Wheel)
2. Release the clips that secure the brake hose and ABS sensor located on the back of the left-hand side of the swingarm. Support the rear brake caliper and bracket. Do not let the brake caliper hang by the brake line to prevent damage to the brake line.
3. Remove the swingarm pivot cover on the left-hand side of the frame
4. Using an 8mm Socket remove the (4) bolts that secure the front sprocket cover to the crankcase.
5. Remove the rubber cover to access the swingarm pivot nut and washer. Save for installation.
6. Using a 12mm socket remove the bottom shock bolts and disengage the shocks from the swingarm
7. Using a 24mm socket and 19mm socket remove the swingarm pivot nut and washer. Save for installation.
Note: Break the nut-free at the nut and washer side.
8. Support the swingarm and remove the swing arm spindle and washer from the left-hand side of the bike.
9. Install the swing arm spindle on the right-hand side to support the swingarm.
10. Using the Swingarm Adjuster Wrench, loosen the frame adjuster sleeve by rotating anticlockwise to loosen the sleeve fully.
11. Remove the swingarm, remove the swing arm spindle from the right-hand side of the bike. Note the location of the spacers for installation
Note: Be careful to not damage the harness and hoses located on the left-hand side of the frame.
